Every aspect of the 8C Competizione has been designed to ensure the best possible aerodynamics. The angle of incidence of the front, the careening of the underbody and the extractor were all calibrated to ensure excellent aerodynamic flows, using modern calculations and thousands of hours of wind-tunnel experimentation and testing, akin to the work done on competition cars designed to win races.

Like Formula 1 cars from the Fifties, the 8C Competizione has a Transaxle setup, offering the best possible equilibrium in the distribution of weight. The engine is situated directly behind the front wheels, while the gearbox and differential are housed inside the rear axle. This way, the weight on the wheels is balanced, minimising the polar moment and improving the vehicle’s stability and response. The 6-speed electro-hydraulic Q-Select sequential gearbox has computer-controlled gear selection using the levers behind the steering wheel.
The chassis is made of steel, ensuring high torsional stiffness, which is needed to get the best out of the suspension system. The wishbone suspension setup front and rear offers sportiness, precision and the maximum surface contact between the tires and the ground. Stability control provided by the VDC system ensures a sporty yet safe drive, without doing anything to impair the driving pleasure. The result is maximum control, excellent handling and outstanding performance.

The heart of the car is a new 8-cylinder 90°V engine with and engine capacity of 4691 cc, capable of developing 450 bhp at 7000 rpm, with a peak torque of 480 Nm at 4750 rpm and a maximum engine speed of 7500 rpm. A mechanical gem with an unmistakable noise, designed to ensure extraordinary performance and versatility in any driving situation.
